National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month: Every year since 2010, January is dedicated to raising awareness about human trafficking and to educate the public about how to identify and prevent this crime.

January 27th: National Chocolate Cake Day! The Ladies Receipt Book by Eliza Leslie (of Pennsylvania) is the first to print a recipe for chocolate cake. While other cakes containing chocolate were known of previously, this is the first recorded recipe for the public. For history and activities, click HERE
