Dear AAUW members,
If there is one positive thing that we have learned during this pandemic, it is how to get creative with our time, our plans, and our resources. In an attempt to adapt to the situation, the leadership team has brainstormed and agreed to the idea of doing things differently this year.
Instead of inviting outside speakers for the 2020-21 programs, we would like to extend you all an invitation to participate as speakers yourselves. This is a wonderful opportunity for us all to learn more from each other, and is something we’ve never done before!
- The meetings will take place online, via Zoom, and coaches will be available ahead of time to practice with you (if needed) on how to log in and make your presentation.
- You may propose a topic that you are an expert in, or speak on something that could fit into one of these suggested categories: entrepreneurs, community leaders, educators at different levels, crafters, holiday memories, activists, self-care gurus, fitness across the ages, etc.
- We are open to your ideas and proposals, and hope to hear from you by August 17th.
- We’d have 3 speakers at each meeting, taking the microphone after the 20 min business segment. Each will have 10 minutes to present with 5 additional minutes for Q&A. Add it all together, if we include a 10 minute wrap up, our meetings should not exceed 75 minutes total.
But please consider signing up for being a speaker at one of our regular monthly meetings. Those dates are: AAUW-
Saturday, November 7th
Saturday, December 12th
Saturday, January 9th
Saturday, February 6th
Saturday, March 13th
Saturday, April 3rd
